Edwards Is Hoping To Get Back To Title Contention
Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards (22-4) returns to home soil f
ollowing his title loss to Belal Muhammad last July.
The Birmingham native, who won the UFC welterweight title in 2022 with a shocking head-kick knockout over Kamaru Usman, seeks to reassert his dominance. Edwards was scheduled to face Jack Della Maddalena who pulled out of the event.
Facing him is Philadelphia’s Sean Brady (17-1), a powerful grappler looking to climb the ranks after recent victories over Kelvin Gastelum and Gilbert Burns. Brady is known for his suffocating wrestling, setting up a classic striker vs. grappler showdown.
Co-Main Event: Jan Błachowicz vs. Carlos Ulberg
In the co-main event, former UFC light heavyweight champion
Jan Blachowicz
(29-10-1) takes on Carlos Ulberg (10-1), a striking specialist from New Zealand. Ulberg, on a seven-fight win streak, faces his toughest test yet in the Polish powerhouse. Błachowicz has been inactive since his controversial loss to Alex Pereira at UFC 291.
He also had a controversial draw against the current champion Magomed Ankalaev. With a win over the surging Ulberg, the Polish star will certainly want a chance to fight the winner of Pereira vs. Ankalaev rematch, which is expected to take place later in the year.
