The Portland Trail Blazers aren’t where they want to be, but they are undoubtedly getting better.

Therefore, it’s not a big surprise to hear that the front office wants to keep the team they have now, both on and off the court.

Shams Charania is reporting that Blazers general manager Joe Cronin has agreed to a multiyear contract extension with the franchise.

The Blazers are trying to put something special together, and Cronin is a huge part of their plans, so signing him to an extension is a smart idea.

Cronin was made general manager in May of 2022 and received a four-year deal at the time.

During Cronin’s time in the role, the team has seen a lot of changes, including the loss of Damian Lillard to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Currently, the Blazers hold a 35-44 record, which means they won’t reach the Play-In Tournament this year.

But they are a team to watch because they could be getting better in the years ahead, especially if Cronin pulls off some smart moves and acquires seasoned talent.

He got his start with the Blazers in 2006, working as an intern until he climbed up the ladder and earned more responsibility.

Now he’s in the big seat and plans to stay there.

Cronin has major plans for his team and wants the Blazers to keep improving in the seasons ahead.

They have promise right now, but they want more than that: they want a lot of wins.

The Blazers have gone 22-16 since January 19 and wish to have a much stronger record next season.
