Alexander Volkanovski could have a massive challenge on his hands, with an undefeated superstar laying down the gauntlet.

Last night, ‘The Great’ wrote the next chapter of his phenomenal story, by reclaiming his featherweight world title.

In a magnificent performance, Volkanovski defeated Diego Lopes at UFC 314 by unanimous decision, to cement his status as one of the greatest of all time.

However, he hasn’t had much time to enjoy the moment, with his next fight potentially just around the corner.

Movsar Evloev calls out Alexander Volkanovski

While Alexander Volkanovski was beating Diego Lopes, Movsar Evloev was watching intently, formulating a game plan he believes could be utilized to relieve the new champion of his title.

Having just picked up a massive victory over Aljamain Sterling, the 19-0 MMA star knows he’s in serious contention to be the next challenger to the 145-pound throne.

Following the contest, the 31-year-old was quick to head to social media to try and ensure he’s the next man in line for a showdown with the Aussie.

He tweeted: “Congratulations on an excellent performance, you’re a true champion! Now let’s see what your word is worth! Alexander Volkanovski.”

With Volkanovski’s daughter having previously mocked him for his loss to Islam Makhachev, the pound-for-pound superstar would revel in the opportunity to get some sort of redemption against his old rival’s countryman.

Therefore, it comes as no major surprise that the 36-year-old is positively salivating a the prospect of taking Evloev’s undefeated record away from him.

With the belt firmly wrapped around his waist, Volkanovski is willing to take on absolutely anybody, with a clash potentially just three months away.

During an interview with Main Event, he asserted: “We’ll see. I’m going to have to have a look at a few things. I’m pretty sure there’s no broken bones, hopefully. If not, let’s get back in there.”
