Alexander Volkanovski is less than a week away from potentially reclaiming the UFC featherweight title in what is set to be an incredible UFC 314 main event.

After Ilia Topuria shockingly decided to vacate the featherweight title, the door opened for Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes to fight for the vacant title at UFC 314.

‘The Great’ is coming off the back of two devastating losses, and many fighters and experts in the sport believe that Volkanovski could be experiencing his career downfall.

Despite that, the former featherweight champion is hopeful that he can replicate his career-best performances on his way to reclaiming the 145lb title.

“He’s gonna be dangerous, punches will be thrown, but you come in aggressive like that especially with what I plan on doing, things are coming hard right back at you so I think everyones in for a treat.

“Looking forward to going out there and doing work, getting my hand raised and to celebrate properly and property enjoy it (this time), I’m gonna enjoy the whole process,” Volkanovski added.

Alexander Volkanovski finally gets custom shorts

It has become a recent trend for the promotion to allow its stars to design their own custom shorts, especially for big events like UFC 314 is set to be.

Stars like Jon Jones, Israel Adesanya, and Islam Makhachev have all donned their custom designs in the Octagon to this point, with Volk now set to join the select few.

The 36-year-old’s own design pays homage to his nickname ‘The Great’, with a traditional Greek Meander band at the top of the shorts. The former featherweight champion’s Mother was born in Greece, and Volkanovski will once again be representing his heritage inside the premier promotion.
