Dana White has accepted Jean Silva’s offer to be best man at his wedding, pending some more information.
The UFC 314 star recorded a stunning submission win over controversial featherweight contender Bryce Mitchell to earn his spot in the rankings on Saturday night. He choked the American unconscious before barking over his lifeless body in the octagon, earning himself a $50,000 bonus in the meantime.
Now, Silva’s focuses shift away from the octagon as he looks to book the wedding that he and his wife Carolina de Castro have always dreamed of. That would include booking an expensive and popular Brazilian singer, who they feel they may need the UFC boss’ help in securing.

Above any ambition within the fight game, Jean Silva’s big dream is to finally have an official church wedding with his wife Carolina. Part of what would make the day particularly special would be getting famed Brazilian singer Belo to perform, but his rate is around four fight purses for the UFC star.
Instead, he suggested that Dana White could pay for the singer, in exchange for getting to be his best man on the day. “We should be married already but we really want Belo to sing at the wedding ceremony,” he explained.
“But dude, come on, bring your rate down. Because I’m going to have to get like four more fights to pay for it so please bring it down… We’re very close to this dream, and at one point we were very very far away from making the dream come true.
“After today we were very close, I think there was some people that came and talked to us today and after the talk that we had we might be really close. Do you guys think if I invite Dana to be my best man he’ll pay for Belo’s rate?

When the idea was floated to White, he appeared perplexed, particularly given that there wasn’t requisite time to explain the details of the offer. However, he seemed interested in the idea, and had a positive reaction in general.
“Wait a minute,” White said, baffled. “He wants to marry his partner in a church, I’m the best man if I pay for it?” He laughed when it was noted that it was just paying for the singer, who likely charges a hefty fee given his profile.
Belo is a major celebrity in Brazil, boasting almost 5million followers on Instagram alone. “I’m going to need more information on this,” White continued, before giving the good news that he is “probably in.”
