The timing of the event was paramount, considering ESPN’s negotiation window ends on Tuesday.
Now, the president of the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization has given an update on the future of the business.

Dana White reveals the amount of money the UFC wants from a broadcasting partner per year
During the UFC 314 post-fight press conference, Dana White was asked all about where fans can expect to get their MMA fix from moving forward.
He revealed that the company is willing to consider lots of different ideas.
The entrepreneur explained: “When the window opens, we’ll obviously start talking to lots of different people and we’ll see what the options are.
“We’ve said this every time, there could be a time where we end up on several different networks like all other sports do.
“I like ESPN. I’ve said it many times, we had a bit of a rocky start, which is normal in any relationship, but we’re in a great place with ESPN.
“Whether we re-sign with them or not, I have nothing but great things to say about my time with ESPN.”
When asked if he wanted to continue with 43 events a year, White replied: “I don’t know. It depends on what ESPN or wherever else we go is looking for. Most of the time when you do these deals, you’re catering to what the network needs.
“Plus, they have other programming, other sports that they’re already committed to at certain times and seasons, so it always changes. It doesn’t matter to me.”
Then, the media asked whether reports suggesting the UFC wants $1 billion per year are true, to which the CEO of the company replied: “Sounds good to me.”
