Daniel Cormier was left in a state of disarray after forgetting the name of a top UFC contender after he’d just secured a huge win.
In his esteemed career, ‘DC’ has created many an incredible memory. For example, Cormier recalls entering the flow state against Dan Henderson, like it was yesterday.
But when it comes to remembering the best competitors in the welterweight division, he clearly struggles.
And on one occasion, it left him in hot water with a star of the weight class.

Daniel Cormier forgot Sean Brady’s name in the middle of a UFC interview
On November 20, 2021, Sean Brady went head-to-head with Michael Chiesa, inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
After three rounds, the grappler emerged with a unanimous decision win.
However, after picking up the major scalp, his night took a negative turn when Daniel Cormier couldn’t remember his name.
On an episode of Good Guy / Bad Guy, the former two-weight world champion confessed: “One time, I was in the octagon and I was doing a post-fight interview in the Apex, and I forgot Sean Brady’s name.
In the moment, the legend said: “Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for,” before leaving a really long silence, which prompted Brendan Fitzgerald to remind him of the name of the man who’d won just moments before.
Cormier continued: “I could hear Fitzy in my ear, and Sean goes, ‘Did you forget my name’? I go, ‘Sean, I know exactly who you are, I have just been hit a lot of times in my head over the course of my career’. That got me some leeway with him, but I forgot Sean Brady’s name in the octagon.”
Finding amusement in the situation, Chael Sonnen added: “That’s a pro move by Fitzgerald. He saved the day. He had to read your body language, know to speak, push the button. I’m pretty impressed by that.”

While Cormier frustrated Brady that time at the Apex, DC often gets annoyed himself, especially with the antics of Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The pair have an extremely close bond, having trained together for several years at American Kickboxing Academy.
However, that doesn’t mean ‘The Eagle’ is opposed to playing practical jokes on his friend.
But one time, things went a little too far. Cormier confronted Khabib after a prank left him raging.
