The Drake curse has long been recognized in the UFC, and he has placed a massive bet on the UFC 314 main event on Saturday.

This Saturday in Miami, UFC 314 goes down with a featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes.

The co-main event is also a highly anticipated five-round lightweight fight between Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett, in which the stakes were increased when Conor McGregor declared his interest in the winner.

The UFC 314 card is widely regarded as the strongest card so far this year, as it also includes a huge fight between promotional newcomer Patricio Pitbull vs Yair Rodriguez.

Drake places huge $545,000 bet on Volkanovski to win

There are many ‘curses’ in the world of MMA, from getting a haircut on UFC embedded to Drake betting on you to win the fight.

There is a long history of Drake betting big money on a UFC fighter to win and then them going on to lose their fight. One occasion when the ‘curse’ was debunked was when Israel Adesanya beat Jared Cannonier, winning Drake $1m.

And with this being the biggest event of the year so far, the infamous rapper has put his money where his mouth is once again and has bet $545,000 on ‘The Great’ Volkanovski to reclaim his 145lb title, which is his first UFC bet of the year.

With the Canadian rapper’s history of getting his picks wrong, fans are now concerned for Volkanovski, anticipating that he may now suffer his third UFC loss in a row.

“Diego guaranteed winning now,” one fan commented.

“Drake is ruining legacies with these wagers,” another fan said.

“Volk, we had a good run,” a third fan reacted.

Drake names his favorite MMA fighter of all time

Although it may seem as though Drake is just betting on the fights with no prior knowledge, he has been a fan of the sport for a while.

Last year, the superstar revealed that his favorite fighter of all time is Nate Diaz because of how ‘thorough’ Diaz is as a fighter.

Undoubtedly, the UFC legend has made Drake big money over the years, potentially adding to him being his favorite fighter.
