Jack Della Maddalena isn’t too concerned with who will be in the commentary booth for the biggest fight of his career thus far.

The UFC welterweight contender was originally scheduled to take on Leon Edwards at UFC London this past March, but he was surprisingly upgraded to fight Belal Muhammad for the title at UFC 315.

Ahead of his title fight on May 10, Jack Della Maddalena has been in the headlines for an unfortunate reason, as his team began a fundraiser to pay for travel expenses for all the members of his team.

Of course, Muhammad jumped at the opportunity to mock the challenger, stating that he was going to help with the expenses before changing his mind after Della Maddalena predicted a first-round knockout.

Jack Della Maddalena comments on Joe Rogan snubbing commentary duty

Bizarely, one of the biggest talking points around not only the fight between Della Maddalena and Belal Muhammad but the entire UFC 315 event is that Joe Rogan won’t be part of the commentary team.

During a recent episode of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan admitted that he won’t be traveling to Canada to commentate on the fights, which caused a bit of controversy.

Although it is common knowledge that Rogan doesn’t travel for international events, it wasn’t clear whether Canada falls into that same category.

“I will not be there, I don’t go to Canada anymore, I don’t. I’d rather go to Russia,” Rogan stated.

“I mean, I think, I don’t know, Joe, I think he just stays to the U.S, pretty sure, but that’s alright, that’s alright, it doesn’t matter, they’ll have some good commentators there but yeah, as long as the team is there, I’ll be happy,” Maddalena reacted during an interview with Main Event TV.

Della Maddalena compares Muhammad’s ‘boring style’ to Georges St-Pierre

The two fighters came face-to-face at the on-sale press conference earlier this year, and things remained respectful for the majority of the event.

Despite that, since then, Della Maddalena and the champion have made a few comments about each other, which has slightly heated up the build-up to their fight.

‘Remember The Name’ is widely criticised by the UFC fanbase for being a ‘boring’ champion because of his fight style and personality.

The Aussie largely agrees with that notion, despite comparing him to the greatest welterweight ever, Georges St-Pierre.

“There’s no question he’s got a boring fight style, he’s good at holding people down and getting victories, fair play to him, GSP got some flack back in the day for a boring style.

“I definitely think it’s a boring style… I feel like I can beat him, I’m a more dangerous fighter for sure, and I think I can get the world title off a dominant finish,” Della Maddalena claimed.
