Always full of controversial opinions, UFC icon Joe Rogan has suggested that a particular MMA strike should be made legal.
Joe Rogan has been around martial arts for the majority of his life, once having a promising career of his own before giving it up after a terrifying moment.
Despite that, Rogan went on to become one of the most recognised faces and voices in the sport, becoming the commentator for the UFC during its infancy.
Since his rise to fame, the icon has made the headlines several times with his controversial suggestions regarding rules, weight cuts, and everything in between.

Joe Rogan makes wild suggestion regarding back-of-head strikes
With Rogan’s reputation seemingly slipping lower, the UFC commentator has made a bizarre suggestion regarding strikes to the back of the head.
At the end of last year, the UFC finally legalized the use of downward elbows, which is something that has been called for constantly over the years, especially considering it was a factor in Jon Jones’ only career loss.
And with that, Rogan believes the UFC should legalize incredibly dangerous strikes to the back of the head.
During an episode of his podcast with Jorge Masvidal, the 57-year-old claimed that it ‘doesn’t make any sense’ why strikes to the back of the head are illegal.
“I don’t even know if we should stop hitting people in the back of the head; it doesn’t make any sense to me, and it should be legal,” Rogan controversially claimed.
“If you talk to a neuroscientist they say that’s a particularly vulnerable area… Isn’t the temple? Aren’t the eyes? Everything is so vulnerable,” he continued.
Michael Chandler notorious for back-of-the-head strikes
Someone who would surely be happy with a potential change to the rules is lightweight contender Michael Chandler.
Chandler received heavy criticism for his fight against Charles Oliveira at 309, as there was a moment in the fight where he seemed to come close to finishing the Brazilian with multiple strikes to the back of his head.
Rogan’s bizarre suggestion joins a long list of other suggestions, including fighters fighting with no gloves, rounds resuming in the same position they ended in, use of headbutts, and more.
