Before beginning his career in the premier promotion, Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett was already a superstar in MMA for numerous reasons.

This coming Saturday, Paddy Pimblett takes on his toughest test to date when he clashes with Michael Chandler in the UFC 314 co-main event.

Ahead of his bout against Chandler, Pimblett has started a feud with Arman Tsarukyan, who sits in the number one spot in the lightweight division, potentially attempting to set up a future fight.

Despite that, he first has to get through the tough test that is ‘Iron’ Chandler, who has been told to find his next career if he loses to the Brit at UFC 314.

Paddy Pimblett scored multiple flying triangle wins before signing with the UFC

Before making his debut in the UFC in 2021, when he unleashed a vicious 10-punch combination on his way to picking up an impressive win, he was cutting his teeth in Cage Warriors.

The Scouser quickly became a favorite amongst the fans because of his exciting all-action fight style, along with his brash personality on the mic.

Not only that, but just four fights into his tenure in Cage Warriors, ‘The Baddy’ pulled off one of the craziest submissions in the history of the sport when he flying triangle choked Conrad Hayes.

A few years later, after losing the featherweight title, Pimblett returned to the cage at Cage Warriors 90, looking to bounce back from his disappointing loss.

Although it was impressive enough that he had already scored one flying triangle choke in his career, the MMA star went and scored another one making it his signature move, catapulting himself into superstardom before even signing with the UFC.

Paddy Pimblett now potentially on the verge of UFC title fight

The 30-year-old is now an even bigger star having picked up five wins on the bounce in the UFC, sitting at rank 12 in the division.

36-year-old veteran, Chandler, currently occupies rank seven in the division and a win over the former title challenger would do a lot for Pimblett’s title aspirations.

Islam Makhachev is the current king of the lightweight division, however, there are rumors surrounding his impending move up to welterweight, potentially leaving the title vacant.

That would put ‘The Baddy’ in an extremely strong position to fight for the vacant title, considering the rest of the top five is seemingly of the older generation.
