Dana White has infuriated fans by competing in a $10 million tournament, when they believe he could instead use the money to make Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall.
In the UFC today, there’s perhaps no potential match-up with more hype than a showdown between the organization’s heavyweight champions.
Alas, financial issues are part of the reason why it hasn’t come to fruition. Colby Covington says Jones wants an unrealistic amount to fight Aspinall.
However, it appears the cash could be out there, with the president of the promotion paying an extortionate amount in the casino.

Dana White has entered a $10 million Baccarat Tournament
Dana White took to his Instagram story, to share the news that he was participating in a monstrous competition.
He captioned the post: “My first ever Baccarat Tournament at MGM Resorts. 10 Million Dollar Tourney.”
Fans were quick to pounce, believing that such an astonishing figure should go toward making the biggest fight in the UFC.
One person tweeted: “This is legitimately the extra cost it would take to make Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall. Remember that the next time Dana says the UFC makes the fights fans want to see.”
However, others were quick to point out that $10 million is likely the prize rather than the buy-in.
With this in mind, many suggested that should White emerge victorious, then he might use the funds to deliver for the fans.
An optimistic MMA enthusiast posted: “Dana’s going to win and use the money to make Jones vs Aspinall. Another hardcore fan posted: “Yes, he’s going to win and give us the fight we all want.”
While it’s exceedingly unlikely the promoter is using anything other than his own money to play in the tournament, it’s tough to blame fans for clinging on to hope that Jones and Aspinall will eventually set foot in the cage with one another.
Jon Jones made a really surprising comment about Tom Aspinall before their heated rivalry started
While combat sports fans across the globe are desperate for the Jones vs Aspinall rivalry to finally get settled, the dislike between the pair wasn’t always so palpable.
Long before their names were tied, the American expressed his thoughts on the British powerhouse.
And taking into account where they are at now, Jones’ comments about Aspinall are shocking.
