Rashad Evans says he will not fight Rampage Jackson because of contractual issues

Rashad Evans has explained that his showdown with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson will no longer go ahead due to contractual problems.

In a statement, posted on Instagram, he informed the fans that this was not a call he made lightly.

The legend wrote: “I’m disappointed to announce the fight between Rampage Jackson [and I] will NOT take place April 12th in Albuquerque at the PIT.

“There were contractual obligations not met, so we had to make this difficult decision to pull the fight. However, we do remain hopeful that this fight can happen at a later date. Sorry to you fight fans, we were really excited to put on a show. Thank you all for the support!”

Will Rashad Evans fight a replacement instead of Rampage Jackson?

While Evans’ statement suggests he will no longer be boxing next Saturday, according to the Influencer Crossover Series, he’s still scheduled to compete.

The organization released a statement, which, while it had no mention of Rampage, claimed that his rival will indeed have a contest.

In addition, the company claimed the entire undercard will also still go ahead as planned.

In an Instagram post, Influencer Crossover Series insisted: “Hey everyone. The fight on April 12 is still on. The undercard and co-main is still happening.

“And Rashad Evans will be fighting a new opponent. Tickets are still on sale.”
