Josh Emmett will hope to set up a title fight with a win in his clash with Lerone Murphy on April 5 as the UFC bring Fight Night: Emmett vs Murphy to Las Vegas.
Josh Emmett and Lerone Murphy will look to cement their claim for a title fight by winning this match-up. Emmett hasn’t fought since knocking out Bryce Mitchell at UFC 296 back in December 2023. That win was off the back of two losses, including in an interim title fight against Yair Rodriguez. The eighth-ranked fighter will be hoping to get back in form when he takes on Murphy, who is putting his undefeated record on the line.
Murphy is coming off seven straight victories in the Octagon, rising to tenth place in the rankings in the process. His most recent bout was at UFC 308, in which he earned a unanimous decision victory over Dan Ige and the Englishman will be looking to extend his 15-0-1 record and move towards a fight for the Featherweight title, after Ilia Topuria vacated the belt.
Elsewhere on the card, Pat Sabatini and Joanderson Brito in the Featherweight division will be the fight in the co-main event for UFC Fight Night: Emmett vs Murphy. Both men sport similar records, although Brito is coming off a split decision loss to William Gomis back in September.

The event will start with preliminaries at 6:00 PM (ET), 3:00 PM (PT) and 11:00 PM (BST).
Following on from that, the main card gets underway at 9:00 PM (ET), 6:00 PM (PT) and 02:00 AM (BST).

In the USA, both the prelims and the main card of the event will be available to watch on ESPN from 6:00 PM onwards. Fans will also be able to stream the event on their mobile devices through ESPN+.
Over in the UK, fans will be able to watch the prelims through the UFC Fight Pass from 11:00 PM before switching over to TNT Sports for coverage of the main card from 02:00 AM.

The main event winner at UFC Fight Night: Emmett vs Murphy could earn a title fight
As two top-ten ranking fighters, Emmett and Murphy have a chance to climb up the rankings even further with a win and become a title contender for the UFC Featherweight Championship.
Emmett and Murphy are ranked eighth and tenth, respectively, in the featherweight division and a win over a top-ten contender could help launch either men into title contention.
After Topuria vacated the title, Dana White announced that Alexander Volkanovski is facing Diego Lopes for the belt at UFC 314.
Both men share a record of 26 wins, with only 4 and 6 losses respectively showing how closely fought a contest it could be.
The Australian is aiming to be a two-time Featherweight champion and could face either Emmett or Murphy should he come away from the Kaseya Center in Florida with the victory.
