Having shared the ring with Darren Till, an undefeated boxer, is convinced that ‘The Gorilla’ would destroy Tommy Fury.

The UFC veteran and the brother of the former heavyweight champion of the world were scheduled to go to war at Misfits 20 on January 18, inside the Co-op Live in Manchester, UK.

However, the 10-0 boxer withdrew from the match-up, claiming that he’d taken issue with the Liverpudlian’s threats to kick him during the bout.

Instead, Till faced Anthony Taylor, finishing the ex-Bellator star in the sixth round.

Matty Floyd thinks Darren Till would annihilate Tommy Fury

Matty Floyd is one of boxing’s most relentless competitors, with the Australian showcasing his resilience not just inside the ring, but outside of it as well, in his efforts to get his hands on Tommy Fury.

In a tremendous career thus far, the brawler has proven himself in his homeland, with Floyd sparring Lucas Browne ahead of the former heavyweight world champion’s fight with Paul Gallen, and winning an Australian title.

Now he’s ready to challenge himself in the UK, with ‘The Jedi’ flying across the world in his pursuit of his biggest bout to date, with the former Love Island runner-up.

Alas, despite turning up at various gyms Fury has trained at, Floyd never managed to track the slick boxer down.

However, he did get the opportunity to train with Darren Till at the Rotunda boxing club in Liverpool, with the pair exchanging leather in brutal sparring sessions.

The rounds made for an eye-opening experience for Floyd, who now believes he’s figured out why the reality star pulled out of his showdown with the former UFC world title challenger.

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, Floyd explained: “I think Darren would’ve f—— destroyed him. I was wondering about why Tommy didn’t fight, maybe it was the kicking thing, but now I know it’s because he knows he would’ve gotten eaten up.

“Mine and Darren’s sparring sessions have been sick, I love it here in Liverpool.”

During his trip, Floyd hoped to secure a shot to compete at Misfits 21 on March 29. However, with the card cancelled, that dream failed to come to fruition.

But with a desire to fight coursing through his veins, the Aussie made sure that he didn’t leave the UK without making a splash.

On March 23, in London, UK, Floyd showcased his ferocious warrior spirit, taking on and beating three opponents in one night, to announce that he’s ready to go head-to-head with anyone, whether it be Fury, KSI, or even Dillon Danis.

Matty Floyd beat one of the greatest fighters in Thai history

While picking up a victory over Fury would be nice, Floyd already has a massive win on his resume, having defeated former two-weight world champion Sirimongkhon Iamthuam.

The Australian first went head-to-head with the legend at Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand, where he lost an extremely controversial decision, which was later ruled a no contest.

Furious with the result, Floyd made sure he produced a spectacular performance in the rematch at the Marriott Hotel in Ankara, Turkey, winning via unanimous decision despite dealing with a serious injury.

The 36-year-old reminisced: “I beat him every single round with a broken hand again. People always say, when I go out there and knock people out, I’m just a fighter. So, because he’s one of the greatest boxers, I wanted to show the world that I’m actually a good boxer too.

“I made sure I outboxed him every round, because I knew I had no right hand. I did that both times, which is what I wanted to do.”
